Here is my inspiration card for the Crafty Bloggers Network this week, the digital stamp is by our Sponsor Rick St Dennis. The card itself is for a swap over at Swap Bot which called for a spring skinny card, this is a 3″ by 5″ card decorated how you like to fit in with a spring theme.
One of the swap groups I belong to has a postcard swap each month and January’s theme is Metallic New Year. Perfect excuse for me to get out those metalic flowers sent to us by our sponsor this month over at Crafty Bloggers Network who is Mulberry Crafts, they do some great flowers so please pop over and take a look. Although you cant really see it that well, the Laser cut chipboard clock from Gina’s designs is painted with metallic gold paint. The background was made using a mask and Stampendous frantage embossing enamel and distress ink.
Time for a new challenge over at the Crafty Bloggers Network and this month we are being sponsored by Mulberry Crafts who do some great paper flowers and embellishments at great prices.
This month’s challenge is Say it with Flowers and for my first project I decided to make an ATC. I made the background using Lace, glitter and double sided tape.
Chipboard shapes from Gina’s Designs coloured with Luster Rub ons
Flowers from Mulberry Crafts
Background made using the glitter lace resist technique (plenty of videos on You Tube)
I fell in love with these little Toread characters as soon as I saw them, they are just too cute (so much so I ordered 3 more stamps). Here are 2 postcards I made for a swap using the stamps I got with the CD (when it was on Create and Craft). I sprayed some kraft card with a pearly mist spray and then cut some leaves using a cuttlebug die. I ran the leaves through various embossing folders to give them some texture and glued them randomly on the card around the cut out Toread character (who were coloured with Copic pens ).
I belong to a group that swaps postcards ATCs and Tags once a month and this month the theme for the postcards is What I did this summer… Well as some of you may know I spent some considerable time down at my Mum’s this year and during that time I took my boys up to London along with my Sister in Law and Nephew. We had a great time at the Science Museum and the London Live event at Hyde Park and finished it off with a photo outside the gates of Buckingham Palace (with the promise to go back next year to do the tour) So we were pretty much “The Tourists” hence my postcard

I belong to a group on Facebook called SMASH*aholics and recently they had a secret sister swap which I took part in. If you have been following my blog you will know that my Dad died at the end of May and that I had to fly down south for his funeral, needless to say things have been a little tight around here as air fair and car hire don’t come cheap. Thanks to the fact that I do some work in a great craft shop I managed to get a parcel together for my SSS (Smash Secret Sister) and had pretty much forgotten all about the swap until this morning that is!
Imagine my surprise this morning when the Postie turned up on the doorstep with this box full of goodies:
Thank You SO much Robin for making my day (and week!) although that really doesn’t do it justice, the amount of goodies in there are wayyyy beyond what I expected, your generosity is quite overwhelming and I was in tears when I opened it.
Thank you again 🙂
My posts will be a little sparse for the next couple of weeks as myself and the boys are away back down to my Mums for our annual holiday.
The theme for April ATC swap at Crafty Ideas by Kaz is cupcakes so I decided to go plain and simple with this one and use come chipboard shapes and paper that I got in a grab box a while back.
Both the items are from A Piece of Cake collection by Dovecraft, not really me but very useful for this sort of thing.
March 8 is International Women’s Day, and in many countries it is customary to exchange yellow flowers on that date. So, for this swap, we have to send each of our 3 partners a postcard which somehow incorporates a yellow flower.
I am really pleased with the way my postcard turned out, I have used a digi stamp from Just Inklined and coloured it with copics and it is on a digi background so that it is flat. (apologies for the slightly blurred photo – it’s a bit dull here today)
The theme for the March ATC swap at Crafty Ideas by Kaz is Fairies so I finally got around to using this image from Victoria Case which she kindly gave away on her Facebook page. Isn’t she just wonderful. I coloured her with copics and mica paints, although you cant see it on the picture, her wings have a shimmer to them. I have also put this in for ATCs and Cards with Attitude this fortnight.
I joined an ATC swap over at U K Scrappers with the theme of “Anything Goes” and these are the cards I made:
I used my nesties to cut out the saying and pierced holes, then mounted it onto a piece of Coredinations card, also cut with a nestie. The background is made from scraps of paper I had in my stash and then I used Modpodge to seal it. I made the flowers using several punched flower shapes and 2 of them are held together with brads as you can see. I created the backs myself on my PC.
