Hi to all out there in blogland! Today I have made something a little different and I am really pleased with how it turned out. You know when you suddenly get an idea in your head and you have to do it there and then? Well this was one of those, its a little different to the picture in my head but that happens to me all the time!
I started off with some white linen paper from Papermill Direct which I inked up with distress inks – Mustard seed, Wild Honey, Barn Door, and Vintage photo. I love the way the linen texture come up when the paper is inked don’t you? I then took my trusty “Autumn Gatherings die from Sizzix and cut me a “heap” of leaves and believe me, you do need quite a few (I cut 4 1/2 strips) Once the leaves were cut I set about inking the edges of them so they would stand out against each other a little bit and then stuck them fairly randomly onto a ring of brown card. The ring measured 6 inches on the outside and 5 inches on the inside, just in case you wish to know 🙂 All that was left was to stick on the scarecrow, words and corn which were all cut on my plotter. The corn was painted with liquid leaf copper.
Here is the result:
I am entering this into the Autumn challenge over at Papermill Direct (they are looking for a new design team too so why not pop over and have a go)
Hi to all my readers, I am really sorry for being such a bad blogger lately. I won’t bore you all with the details but lets just say that I could do with some GOOD news coming my way for a change!
This month, over at Crafty Bloggers Network Blog, we are sponsored by the very talented Kris over at Imagine That. We were lucky enough to get to play with her Bees Knees Digi Kit (and a couple of other things) and I had a Thank you card to make, so without further ado here it is:
Imagine That Bees N Sunflower Digi Kit
Spellbinders Labels 30
Black and yellow card
Well ok they are not roses, but they are red 🙂 When I started to colour this Bugaboo image , I had them in yellow, then I remembered that for the new challenge over at ABC challenges, they should be red, so I ended up colouring over the top. Thank goodness for Copic pens! I used a mask from SplodgeAway to make the background.
The lovely Heather over at Lacy Sunshine stamps is very kindly sponsoring the Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge this month and the prize is a whopping $20 gift certificate!
Here is the my design team card:
The image I used is called Lizabeth- Wild Daisies Digi Set, the papers just cried out to be used with her. I coloured her with copic’s and cut her out with a Nellie Snellen die. The theme this month is Metal Magic, so I used some rainbow mirror card for my flourishes (well its kind of metal isnt it!)
Here is my card for the new challenge over at ABC challenge blog where the theme calls for lots of layers. I used some of my rainbow shimmer card in here and it does not photograph very well at all!

Hello from a sunny Scotland (well it is whilst I am writing this post – bet it wont be when it goes out, but I can live in hope) Today is time for a new challenge over at the ABC challenge blog and I have made a fairly simple card using an element kit I am about to start selling. Our sponsor this fortnight is My Favourite Things who do a fabulous range of Die-namics dies amongst other things.
I’ve made this wall hanging to go into the fabulous Hels Sheridan’s challenge, the theme this time is Purple Haze, as it is my favourite colour I just had to have a go didn’t I?
I took inspiration from the hanging that Hel’s made on air last week on Create and Craft, it turned out a little more pink than I would have liked normally but then you have to go with what you have (it definitely said purple on the pot of paint!)
I used the mask that came with Ali Reeve’s DVD and some texture paste I bought in my local Lidl’s quite a while ago, I then painted with said purple paint and used a Cut and Dry sponge around the edges, The silver is distress paint and the sentiment comes from Personal Impressions Creative Thoughts set (one I go to over and over). I cut the flower out of some mount board with my new Big Shot (anniversary pressie from hubby – thanks Roddie)and tattered florals die, painted and stamped it with an indigo Blu script stamp (another “go to”). The butterflies are made from Martha Stewart paper clay and mold then painted with the same “purple” paint.
