Today I have another project made using the the autumn poppy stamp set from Chocolate Baroque. This time I used my love of Zentangle to make a card:
I stamped the image with Archival black ink and then sat and tangled the open spaces
I cut the image out and matted on black card. I then cut a piece of white card to fit my card base, stamped the edge with black ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder (this helps if you get extra spots as you don’t see them).
To finish I matted and layered the pieces and used mounting foam to give more dimension to the main image.
Why not pop over to the Chocolate Baroque blog and see what the design team have done with this fab stamp set.
First of all I would like to wish all my blog followers a Merry Christmas and a very happy new year.
I would also like to take a moment to remember absent friends and family and send a big hug out to any other people who are missing loved ones (for whatever reason) at this time of year.
It is inspiration Monday over at Crafty Bloggers Network and I have something a little different for you today, it is a star that I made using the Docrafts digital designer template and then I Tangled it 🙂
Why not hop over and see what the other members of the design team have for you.
It has been a while since I blogged one of my Swap Bot swaps so I thought I would share this Mandala I have created for December’s swap. I found another challenge blog for Zentangle called The Bright Owl Zendala Dare. The mandala template is Number 32 and I had great fun with it, I used some linnen effect paper to add a little interest and texture and I am really pleased with how it turned out.
I am super excited as I am going to Hobby Crafts Fair at the SECC in Glasgow on Sunday and I am looking forward to spending the day browsing great craft products without having to worry about my boys being bored or getting into mischief (oh and bagging a few bargains as well!)
Before I go though I have a couple of tags to share with you, another swap with the same group as the Celtic ATC, the tag theme was Zentangle. I havent shared any of my tangled things with you in a while so here are my tags:
It has been a while since I posted an ATC so I thought I would share this one with you all, It is for an owl ATC swap over at Swap Bot.
I used a piece of paper someone had sent me as the background and the owl was a free digi stamp but sadly I can’t remember where he came from. I used the tangle patterns Gothic and Golven
Here is my first attempt at an ATC using just 1 pattern (well almost) I drew a random string and filled it all in with variations of the Betweed tangle
This week has been one of those hectic weeks where I seem to be running around everywhere and not seeming to get very much done! I did however post a parcel of 10 card samples off on Wednesday (more about those next week ;). I heard that my Piano Keys ATC that I made for a swap has arrived safely so here it is:
Here is an artist trading card that I created for a Zentangle group that I belong to, I decided to add a bit of colour to this one using my Copic Ciao pens. I traced the hands from a Zentangle book that I have and then drew stings to make the stripes.
Keep an eye out for more greetings cards coming soon as I have an exciting announcement to make
I have really got into Zentangle art, it is so relaxing to do, and you can sit with the family watching TV and tangle away happily. Here is another of the Number series swap:
Here we have an ATC for the Coloured Owl Series – Purple over at Swap Bot, the owls were a free digital image from the Lost in Paper Scraps blog which I tangled and coloured. The background was sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer mist (always seem to end up covered in this when I use it!)
