This week on the SplodgeAway blog myself and my fellow DT members are sharing our favourite things to do with our masks, one of my favourites is using them with my Gelli plate.
The masks are great for this, they clean up really well afterwards too. The effects you can create with them are great with both first and second prints. Go on, have a go, its great fun, even your kids can have a go, but beware its messy and adictive!
Here is a card I made using the Hex-o-Star Mask and a topper from a CD by La Pashe.
Here is an ATC I created for the above series over at Swap Bot, the iris came from my Next Big Thing CD and I coloured it with Copics. I cut 2 nestie shapes and stuck the cut out Iris onto the first oval. The backing paper came from a digital collection designed by myself and friends.
As soon as I saw this image on my Next Big Thing CD I knew I just had to use it on my Dad’s birthday card. We had many different cars over the years and one of them was a blue Ford Anglia, not quite like this one I must admit, but fun all the same.
I coloured the image using my Copic Ciao pens and used my Spellbinders Parisian dies for the shapes on the card.
I am hoping that my Mum can’t remember my blog, (if that’s not the case then Mum this is your card lol) I was so pleased with the way this turned out, I have wanted to try this technique out for ages and Sue Wilson has great step by step instructions on her blog
Here is a close up of the embossed card. I used the Spellbinders Parisien die sets to create the embellishments. The image is a digital image from Just Inklined simply called Rose coloured with Copic Ciao pens.
March 8 is International Women’s Day, and in many countries it is customary to exchange yellow flowers on that date. So, for this swap, we have to send each of our 3 partners a postcard which somehow incorporates a yellow flower.
I am really pleased with the way my postcard turned out, I have used a digi stamp from Just Inklined and coloured it with copics and it is on a digi background so that it is flat. (apologies for the slightly blurred photo – it’s a bit dull here today)
The challenge over at Wicked Wednesday ATC challenge this week is Words or quotes, how perfect is this ATC I was working on. I used one of the new masks that I had made for Cullen Crafts (look out for them in the shop soon) with some modeling paste. I was so impatient for it to dry that I took my heat gun to it which produced the really cool texture as it all bubbled up. The rabbit is from The Next Big Thing cd from La Pashe and coloured with Copics.
