Card for Mum with Sue Wilson Dies

Today I have for you the birthday card I made for my Mum this year (her birthday is in May so I am safe to show it. I cut a frame using Sue Wilson’s Double pierced ovals and some coconut white card, then I cut a piece of wisteria card using the next size down of the ovals. I then cut out 2 of the inner die from the Stitched Lattice Frames, 1 in coconut white and 1 in wisteria. I glued these together so they were offset from each other and then onto the wisteria oval.
Using some foam pads I mounted the coconut white frame over the wisteria oval and then the whole thing was stuck onto a piece of embossed cardstock coloured with colour cloud ink. The New Zealand Hamilton die provided the center cut in wisteria and mounted onto coconut white. I used the metalic gilding polish to “ink up” one of the petite lavish sentiment stamps.
Petaloo flowers and Creative Expressions pearl corners finished off the card.
Happy Birthday Granda

Sometimes the only way you can get the card you want is to make it (or have it made for you) by hand. I was asked to make a birthday card for my friends daughter to give to her Grandad who she calls Granda.
I knew that the person it was for had his own boat so asked my friend if she had a picture of it, the following card is the one I made.
I used the Cathedral Background die in coconut white card which I laid over a rich red piece with an oval cut from the center. The greeting was created on my silhouette cameo using the white sketch pen and then I used the Expressions Ornate Frame – Just Because to mount it onto the card above a strip created with the border from the Scandinavian Collection – Corner, Border & Tag
Happy New Year…

…to everyone out there.
Today I have something for you that I havent done in quite some time, I have made a layout of my boys on new years eve. It was quite special this year as the boys stayed up to see in the new year with us for the first time.
I made the layout using Bo Bunny’s Block Party collection.

Mothers Day 2015
As some of you may know, a few years ago I got my Mum into making cards so now when I make her a card I have to try and make one that she hasnt seen before. I am finding this increasingly more dificult as the years go by!
Here is the card I made for this years mothers day
I used tonic dies and the Sue wilson Cornflower die
Christmas with Gina’s designs

I didn’t really spend Christmas with Gina’s Designs as the title suggests lol, although thanks to the wonders of technology Gina and I did spend Christmas morning together 🙂
I have a layout for you today made using the new String Alongs in the store, embossed in separate areas using a versamark pen. It seems like forever since I did a physical scrapbook layout instead of a digital one and I really enjoyed making it!
Our boys decided to get us up at 5.15 am on Christmas Day morning, hence the title for the layout, I had the boys write onto some tags with an embossing pen which I then embossed with clear powder along with my own tag as well. When I put the layout together I created pockets for the tags by gluing down only tiny bits of the strip of paper that the tags sit behind, thus allowing the viewer to take out the tags a read the reverse (which explains the title!)
Supplies:
Ginas Designs String Alongs – Moon and stars
WOW embossing powder – red Glitz and clear
Papermania patterned papers
Versamark embossing pen and red embossing pen
Foam letters

Hunkydory meets Friday Sketch

Hi there bloggers, today it is my turn to make the sketch over at the Friday Sketch Challenge so here it is:
I have made my Mum’s Birthday card so lets hope she doesn’t read this (I don’t think she will as last time I spoke to here she didn’t have a working PC) I used the Hunkydory Lovely Ladies collection for the topper and the two panels. I stamped the background of the card with a free stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine.
How time flies!!

Where does it go I wonder, it only seems like yesterday that we were bringing home this tiny bundle of a boy who would change our lives forever. The first of our 2 sons was born 9 years ago today and he’s growing up so quickly.
Here he is just a month ago with his cheeky grin!
and here is the birthday card I made for him using the Wellington Ultimate Decoupage pack from DoCrafts
This is my DT inspiration card this week over at The Crafty Bloggers Network Blog – Don’t forget our DT call ends next week!
Smash*ing the Jubilee and Leap day
I got 2 new Smash* books yesterday from Cullen Crafts so I decided that I would use the Green one for Random stuff and the Blue one for my boys. I thought it was about time I did something with the photos I took on Leap Day. The boys and I went geocaching in the morning before school in order to get the souvenir badge on our Geocaching.com page. We got 3 First to Find badges in the process. I then went on to meet up with a bunch of really nice people from the Moray Geocachers group who I had met on Facebook. I just had to bring back some of the cake for the boys to eat as they missed out on the lunch.
My Second layout is a Diamond Jubilee one. I wanted to have something to remember the event although we didn’t really do anything for it here except watch it on the TV. The pictures are ones I found on the internet and printed out just to do a page with.
