For this Swing style card I used just the car and the Union Jack from the Mimic Creations CD to make the topper and let the software make the backing paper for me. I cut the Cogs using my Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets die. The card would be perfect for any man or teenager in your life, you know, the one who is always hard to make cards for.
This particular card inspired Hayley West to make a card on one of the first shows this week, I used a BCE Template but Hayley’s card was much more simple, I hope you didn’t miss the dimensions she used, She took a strip of card and folded each end in to the middle to create the “boxes” and the image was stuck in the middle where they met.
The union Jack on the Mimic Creations CD was crying out to be made into bunting. I used my Xcut dies for the inside and Geraldine lent me her scalloped dies for the layer on the back.
Here is a close up of the flowers I made with my Tim Holtz die to go on either end. I printed out the paper, cut them with the die and sprayed them with water to give them that tattered look.
My cards are going to be on the TV! This week’s pick of the week on Create and Craft TV is a CD with artwork by Mimic Creations and I was asked to make cards for the samples on the shows. Here is the first one I made:
The disk is so easy to use and the artwork is so fun to work with, you can create your own papers, inserts, envelopes etc with the images too.
This would be great for either of my Brothers, I remember them sitting down on a Saturday evening to watch the A Team and loving it!
More cards to come over the week so stay tuned.
Over at ATCs and Cards with Attitude this week we have an Anything Goes Theme. The cogs frame comes from our sponsor Delicious Doodles this week and I added a few real ones that I had got a while back. I then used a new Papermania Capsule Collection DVD to print off the Urban digital stamps. I cut the butterfly one with the Spelbinders Sprightly Sprockets die that my kids got me for Mothers Day. The ATC is egg-shaped because it is for a swap I am taking part in over at Swap Bot that calls for this shape 🙂
This week over at ATCs and Cards with Attitude I have created a card using the Seahorses image from our sponsor Delicious Doodles. I coloured the image with copics and then used an embossing pen on the coral and the seahorses eyes in order to emboss them with different embossing powders. I cut out the circle frame using Nesties and glued some acetate behind it. I then used pinflair glue to create the gap needed for the Beadazzles to shake around inside.
