Well the boys have been bugging me to get the Christmas tree up, so I went and struggled to get the huge box out of its hidey hole and bought it downstairs. The next hour was spent carefully (or not so carefully) putting on the ornaments and things and fixing the ones that had got broken. Phillip was quite proud of the results, and rightly so!
I’m sorry I havent put anything on here for a while, as you can imagine with 2 boys at age 7 & 8, things are a little hectic here. The boys seem to have a better social life than we do!
I really wanted to share with you the pictures I took last night in Cullen. Santa and his reindeer visited Cullen and the boys got to see Santa twice 🙂 Thanks to Santa for having his picture taken with the 2 of them outside in the bitterly cold wind.
I did it! I managed to upload a video onto YouTube, okay, it took me three attempts to get the thing right and the quality isnt great but never mind I can only get better eh! The video is of the Mini Album Scraps 12 days of Christmas cigar box swap. I have really enjoyed doing this swap and have made a new friend in the process. Chris is my partner, and she has made me a really awesome box, you should check out the video of it
Hopefully I have managed to embed it here as well.
Here is another swap that I have done over at Mini album scraps, the theme this time was Christmas traditions so I used my Snowman CD from Crafters Companion as its something that is always on the TV over christmas, the theme tune “Walking in the Air” just symbolises the start of Christmas for us. I have also entered this into the challenge over at Crafters Companion which, this month, is Let it Snow
If you had said to me a year ago that I would be playing with strips of paper from my shredder to make tiny paperchains I would have said you were mad but here we are. The image was just crying out to have the chain extended around the side and then when I saw the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp this week I knew it had to be done! I took the stips of paper and inked them using distress ink and then stuck them together in a chain, took a while but I think it was worth it in the end. I have also found a new challenge for me called Weekly Christmas Card Challenges this gave me the ispiration for using this image.

It has been one of THOSE weeks here in not so sunny Portsoy. every time I sat down to make a card or write on my blog, something cropped up. The week didn’t end much better than it started really as I spent a very wet morning in Keith yesterday watching my youngest play football. All the boys played well but the poor kids were soaked by the time they were done.
On to a better note, I decided to enter the challenge over on the Crafters Companion challenge blog for the first time. I love my Humphrey’s corner CD’s and stamps as I collect elephants, but more importantly I can see my kids when they were younger in most of the artwork. The challenge calls for a colour scheme of green and pink which was a departure from my normal Christmas card colours, however, I must say that I am really pleased with the results.
I used watercolour card to stamp the image and coloured it with whisper pens and inked around the edge with distress ink.
The background papers came from the Humphrey’s Corner Christmas CD and the shapes were cut using my dies and my trusty wizard machine (soon to be used along side my Grand Calibur which will hopefully arrive today, yipee!!)
I added some ribbon and gems to match the purple shoes and mittens in the picture. I had to colour the gems with copics as I only had clear ones.
The silver shimmer card was some I had in my stash but I have no idea where it came from lol.
In tomorrows Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge you could win a super prize of chipbard goodies pictured here:
Why not head over and have a go, you never know you may win!
