Today is the last day to enter the challenge over at Crafty Bloggers Network to win 3 digi sets from the Imagine That store. Kris has some great kits and we were lucky enough to work with the Bees Knees Kit. Here is the card I made for this week:
Imagine That Bees n Sunflower Digi Kit5 x 7 card blank
Sizzix Banner Die
Greeting stamp from Personal Impressions
Here is the last set of drawers (well for now anyway until I get a new box from Gina 🙂 ) I have had so much fun decorating these, and I really love the way they turned out.
This set is the 5 Drawer Storage Cabinet I used the same set of papers to cover the drawers and sides and the labels on the front are from Gina’s Stackable Labels Set
Hi to all out there in blogland! Today I have made something a little different and I am really pleased with how it turned out. You know when you suddenly get an idea in your head and you have to do it there and then? Well this was one of those, its a little different to the picture in my head but that happens to me all the time!
I started off with some white linen paper from Papermill Direct which I inked up with distress inks – Mustard seed, Wild Honey, Barn Door, and Vintage photo. I love the way the linen texture come up when the paper is inked don’t you? I then took my trusty “Autumn Gatherings die from Sizzix and cut me a “heap” of leaves and believe me, you do need quite a few (I cut 4 1/2 strips) Once the leaves were cut I set about inking the edges of them so they would stand out against each other a little bit and then stuck them fairly randomly onto a ring of brown card. The ring measured 6 inches on the outside and 5 inches on the inside, just in case you wish to know 🙂 All that was left was to stick on the scarecrow, words and corn which were all cut on my plotter. The corn was painted with liquid leaf copper.
Here is the result:
I am entering this into the Autumn challenge over at Papermill Direct (they are looking for a new design team too so why not pop over and have a go)
… and I am another year older (yes I know it comes to us all!) Did I have a good time I hear you ask, well yes actually I did, thanks. I got a little messy and put together a set of drawers that my best pal sent me, I seem to have had them for quite a while now and thought it was about time they took on the correct form rather than being flat packed! You can see what they look like in the “bare” form over at Gina’s Designs.
As I said, the pieces come flat packed and you decorate them how you like, so I got out the Gesso and paint and set about turning the wood bits blue. Once that was set aside to dry I assembled the drawers, I cheated a little by using some plain pink card-stock for the sides and backs (well you don’t see them do you 🙂 ) I then used some patterned papers from Fancy Pants to decorate the fronts of the drawers as this matches with my Desk organiser that I made some time back.
Here is the finished article:
Now all I need to do is sort out what I am going to put in it – don’t think that will take too long do you ?
Here it is next to the organiser:
The SplodgeAway show on Create and Craft tv last week was fab! there were SO many brilliant samples created for it I was blown away by them all. I am really very lucky to be part of such a talented DT, hop over to the SplodeAway Blog to see them all as they are being showcased there all this week. Here are the projects I made (although Suzie did a better job of showing them off – thanks Suzie):
For more details of the products and better pictures, please go take a look on the SplodgeAway Blog.
