Humphrey’s Corner Christmas

Humphrey's Corner card for Sunday Sketch and Stamp

If you had said to me a year ago that I would be playing with strips of paper from my shredder to make tiny paperchains I would have said you were mad but here we are. The image was just crying out to have the chain extended around the side and then when I saw the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp this week I knew it had to be done! I took the stips of paper and inked them using distress ink and then stuck them together in a chain, took a while but I think it was worth it in the end. I have also found a new challenge for me called Weekly Christmas Card Challenges this gave me the ispiration for using this image.

Squiggle Stamps Thanks Card

Wow, 2 things in 2 days, I must be on a roll! I made a card for the Squiggle Stamps challenge of thanks. I don’t normally do cards of this style but I really like how it came out. I used a doily that my good friend Gina sent me a good while ago now. I stamped and coloured the image with Distress ink, then used a rossette from another MCS CD that I have.

Tinkering with Steampunk

Frame using MCS Tinkering with Steampunk CD

Some time ago now I made myself a wall hanging for my craft space, a friend saw it last month and asked if I would make one for her daughter. I finally got around to making it today with a new CD that landed on my doorstep this morning, it is from My Craft Studio and it is called Tinkering with Steampunk. I love it, the images and papers are just SO cool. I made this 3d frame from it:

I made the rose with Tim Holtz’s Tattered Florals die using one of the backgrounds from the CD which I inked and then spritzed with glimmer mist.
The tag and frame are from the CD and I added the quote, then glued some watch parts onto the image.

Really simple to create but I am SO pleased with the results that I may even make myself a new one, I can see me using this disc quite a bit in the near future.

I am going to enter it into the Craft your PassionOne Stop Craft Challenge and ABC Challenge as they all have a theme of Anything Goes

One of those weeks and a Humphrey Christmas Card

Crafters Companion October challenge card

It has been one of THOSE weeks here in not so sunny Portsoy. every time I sat down to make a card or write on my blog, something cropped up. The week didn’t end much better than it started really as I spent a very wet morning in Keith yesterday watching my youngest play football. All the boys played well but the poor kids were soaked by the time they were done.

On to a better note, I decided to enter the challenge over on the Crafters Companion challenge blog for the first time. I love my Humphrey’s corner CD’s and stamps as I collect elephants, but more importantly I can see my kids when they were younger in most of the artwork. The challenge calls for a colour scheme of green and pink which was a departure from my normal Christmas card colours, however, I must say that I am really pleased with the results.

I used watercolour card to stamp the image and coloured it with whisper pens and inked around the edge with distress ink.

The background papers came from the Humphrey’s Corner Christmas CD and the shapes were cut using my dies and my trusty wizard machine (soon to be used along side my Grand Calibur which will hopefully arrive today, yipee!!)

I added some ribbon and gems to match the purple shoes and mittens in the picture. I had to colour the gems with copics as I only had clear ones.

The silver shimmer card was some I had in my stash but I have no idea where it came from lol.
