Today’s card uses one of Sue Wilson’s Perspective collection dies – the Happy Birthday circle. The set comes with the little cupcake and candles so it is quite a useful one.I cut the die from coconut white card and honeydew card and used the outside coconut white with the inside in honeydew (the opposite piece I kept for a future card)
I mounted the circle onto a piece of honeydew card cut out with the Grace Frame die. I cut the Petite Peony cluster in coconut white and backed it with honeydew then mounted it on foam pads on each side of the frame. I inked through the the cupcake die with colour cloud ink to create the lines that represent the wrapper and I topped the cupcakes with iced snow to give them a little sparkle.
Todays post is a card that John Lockwood made a back in February, I decided to make one myself.
I cut out the outside die from the heart of heart die set and leaving it in place I embossed the dark card with the illusions embossing folder and then used some silver gilding wax over the top. I made the rest of it pretty much the same as Johns one.
I have a wee canvas for the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Craft group challenge over on Facebook. In honour of St Patricks day this month, the challenge is to create a project with green in it.
I started with a canvas that i didn’t particularly like and took the Swirled hearts texture sheet from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts which I scraped some texture paste through. I then used different colours of Colourarte silks to get the green colours of the bacground. I printed the quote onto a piece of green paper and then cut it into seperate words before I stuck it onto the canvas. The heart is from the Waterworks shape set and it was painted with Vintage mint silk acrylic glaze from colourarte. I used a stabilo all surface pencil to outline the words and make them stand out against the background. I finished the whole thing off with some prima flowers.
Today I have a spring birthday card to share with you. I think I am in love with the Honeydew card colour, it is so fresh looking.
I cut the New Zealand Collection Wellington die out of some coconut white card and then rotated it 45 degrees and cut it again. I then backed this with some Honeydew foundation card. I used a tonic die to cover the hole left by the Wellington die then circles to matt the Perspectives Collection Happy Birthday Circle. The outside frames were cut using the noble pierced squares and the 3 flowers in the middle using Finishing Touches – Perfect Peony Complete Petals and Finishing Touches – Perfect Peony Open Petals. The finished card measures 6.5″ square.
I thought I would have a bit of a play around with Canadian Collection of dies by Sue Wilson and here is what I came up with.
First I cut out the Canadian Collection – Background in some coconut white foundation card and cut it up into 6 lots of 4 squares which I then mounted onto some lilac card. Next I cut the Canadian Collection – Corner, Border & Tag out 4 times in some lilac foundation card, adhered it onto the lilac background and mitred at the corners. The whole thing was then put on to a matt of coconut white. I used the montreal die to cut out a matt for the center tag and stamped a sentiment onto the coconut white card. Perfect Peony Open Petals and Perfect Peony Complete Petals were used along with the Delicate Fronds die to finish off the card. The finished card measures 6″ by 7 3/4″.
First of all can I say welcome to all the people who have come to my blog from the SET craft Facebook page, its great to have you here 🙂
Today I have a card for you that shows you can use all those images from the CDs you have tucked away along with your brand new dies. I printed out a picture from one of my Humphries Corner CDs and used the Grace frame die to cut out the image. I used background paper and sentiments also printed from the CD to make up the card too. The Brighter Days die made a great frame for the central image, backed with some of the same backing paper. I finished off by cutting the “new baby” sentiment to fit onto the Pierced Flag die and placed stick on pearls in the corner.
Here is a card I made using a few new dies and the Bed of Roses embossing folder all by Sue Wilson. The finished card measures 7 1/8″ square.

…to everyone out there.
Today I have something for you that I havent done in quite some time, I have made a layout of my boys on new years eve. It was quite special this year as the boys stayed up to see in the new year with us for the first time.
I made the layout using Bo Bunny’s Block Party collection.
I just love these birds by Tim Holtz, they are so quirky. I made this card for my nephews birthday.
I used masks and colour cloud inks to create the background and distress inks to paint the birds and accessories. I used the dies to cut out the birds but had to cut the other bits by hand.
I have a couple of cards for you today made with the Sue Wilson christmas dies I have bought recently from Set Craft
