Sorry again to my followers I seemed to have slipped by the wayside again. To be honest I haven’t been crafting a great deal lately what with work and family I really haven’t had the time. I have to make an effort and make the time, hopefully this should be a little easier as I am going to be spending some time with my Mum soon so it will be fun to craft together.
I did spend yesterday afternoon having some “me” time at the Paperterie in Aberdeen, I watched Sue Wilson do a couple of demos (and hopefully helped her with her camera) and then spent a couple of hours in a workshop with Julia Watts where we made this wonderful card.
I had a great time and was very pleased with my results. Thank you to both Sue and Julia for coming all the way up to Aberdeen and to the Papeterie for hosting the event.
and I LOVE it! There is so much detail in this stamp it is Gorgeous with a capital G. I can see me making a lot of cards with this one.
I used the stamp with black archival ink and embossed it with clear powder then I created the scene with distress inks and masks and this months NDC stamp (they are mega useful too).
I made the card for the first Sketch Challenge over at Ginas Designs – you should have a go there is a $10 gift certificate up for grabs!

It my Hubbies birthday today and I made him a card with my new Clarity stamp shape set, its the first time I tried making the clouds in the sky so it took me 3 attempts to get it how I wanted it but I am very pleased with the results.
The SplodgeAway show on Create and Craft tv last week was fab! there were SO many brilliant samples created for it I was blown away by them all. I am really very lucky to be part of such a talented DT, hop over to the SplodeAway Blog to see them all as they are being showcased there all this week. Here are the projects I made (although Suzie did a better job of showing them off – thanks Suzie):
For more details of the products and better pictures, please go take a look on the SplodgeAway Blog.
This week on the blog over at SplodgeAway every one has been showing off a project of their choice with no particular theme in mind so here is the card that I made using the Celtic framer mask, I sponged glue through the mask and applied silky glitter to it (from creative expressions but I can’t remember the correct name)
I am really excited as I have received my DT package to prepare for the next Create and Craft show on August 27th. While I obviously can’t show you what is in it I can tell you that I am pretty sure you are going to LOVE the products I know I do
Warning: Picture heavy post!
What a busy show Tom and Hazel had on Create and Craft TV on Tuesday! I am really not surprised as they had some awesome masks on sale. When you have done here pop over to the SplodgeAway blog and see what the rest of the DT created as all the samples were awesome. Here are the samples I created for the show.
First up we have the Bulldog, Light bulb and Drips from the Altered Art Kit
This one was simply inked through with Black Soot distress ink onto some backing paper:
This one used some texture paste onto a sheet of Drummond Tartan and then I used some rub on wax over the top of the texture paste:
Wall hanging with flitter glu (from Indigo Blu) through the mask and gilding flakes applied
Another simply inked through with Black Soot and Vintage Photo distress inks:
This one is mount board cut using a Bigz die and then I inked up the mask with versamark and ran it through the Grand Calibur to transfer the ink and then applied embossing powder ans heated:
Mask drawn around and cut out of white cardstock:
Next up we have the fairies (some of which could also be Angels – hence my second card) from the FunkyFairy kit
Guilding flakes applied to Flitter Glu that was spread through(left side) and around (right side) the masks
Then we have 2 cards made with Leafy Wreath from the Wreath Kit
Mask embossed using the Grand Calibur then placed on the card to ink around:
Ink onto mask and pass through the Grand Calibur to transfer the ink:
Last but not least I used the Splodgy mask from the Texturizer Kit
This one was made by inking through the mask with different blues in the distress inks, turning the mask each time before applying the next colour
This one was made to show that you can use the masks with digital artwork too – the invite was made in Serif Craft Artist and then the water was created with versamark inked through the mask and clear embossing powder:
I’ve made this wall hanging to go into the fabulous Hels Sheridan’s challenge, the theme this time is Purple Haze, as it is my favourite colour I just had to have a go didn’t I?
I took inspiration from the hanging that Hel’s made on air last week on Create and Craft, it turned out a little more pink than I would have liked normally but then you have to go with what you have (it definitely said purple on the pot of paint!)
I used the mask that came with Ali Reeve’s DVD and some texture paste I bought in my local Lidl’s quite a while ago, I then painted with said purple paint and used a Cut and Dry sponge around the edges, The silver is distress paint and the sentiment comes from Personal Impressions Creative Thoughts set (one I go to over and over). I cut the flower out of some mount board with my new Big Shot (anniversary pressie from hubby – thanks Roddie)and tattered florals die, painted and stamped it with an indigo Blu script stamp (another “go to”). The butterflies are made from Martha Stewart paper clay and mold then painted with the same “purple” paint.
Warning, picture heavy post.
Here we have my samples for the SplodgeAway show last Friday, Tom’s designs are so much fun to work with I ended up with 12 samples! I dare say I would have just carried on creating if I hadn’t had to get them in the post LOL
First up we have a bag and tag made with the Mask of many faces and chipboard shapes from Gina’s Designs:
Next up we have a postcard made with the same mask and tangled:
Lastly for this mask, we have a tag using Fran*tage powders and Gears from Gina’s Designs
Now we have a few cards using the Borders, first up the Tall Trees Border:
and the Floral border and Linked Butterflies border in this card along with Clarity Stamp’s Pretty petals and butterfly set and “Be the Change” stamp from the New Design Club
More Linked Butterflies, this time with a Gelli Plate background and stamps from Clarity Stamp (new design club and Leafy Swirl)
The next two cards use some of the Framer masks, the first one is using the Celtic Framer mask along with more Clarity Stamps (Large Deerscape, Dear Friend set and Letterbox kit) and the second uses the Celtic framer along with the Floral Framer and a rose stamp by Viva Decor along with another Clarity Stamp “Thinking of You”
Please do go and check out the other show samples that are being posted on the SplodgeAway blog over the course of this week as they are all awesome and it would be a real shame if you missed out on seeing them.
The sketch I used is this weeks one over at the Friday Sketch Challenge which is sponsored by the lovely Stamp Fairy, we have a gift certificate up for grabs so why not have a go.
The main image has been triple embossed and all the papers, image and embellishments are from the CD, except the leaves, which are cut using a new Crafts Too die available at Cullen Crafts. The Thank You stamp is from the Chronology Freebie set that came with the Docrafts Magazine.
