Monthly Archives: September 2012
The challenge over at Dutch Dare Challenges this week is Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails…all things boys and I’ve made a Christmas card with a boy in mind
Sorry for the Boofle overload lately but I am using up the decoupage from the Docrafts Goody Bag which is where most things came from for this card, I added peel offs mirror paper and a Memory Box die cut.
Its Monday again which means inspiration time over at Crafty Bloggers Network, go check out the cards our DT have for you. Dont forget to enter our challenge this month which is sponsored by Crafters Companion, all you have to do is create something purple or with purple in it (and no, it wasnt my idea lol).
Here is my card for your inspiration:
I used the Sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday and Boofle decoupage and papers and Anita’s Gems and Papermania Glitterations from the Docrafts Goodie bag along with a piece of gold mirror card and a scrap of ribbon.
I belong to a group that swaps postcards ATCs and Tags once a month and this month the theme for the postcards is What I did this summer… Well as some of you may know I spent some considerable time down at my Mum’s this year and during that time I took my boys up to London along with my Sister in Law and Nephew. We had a great time at the Science Museum and the London Live event at Hyde Park and finished it off with a photo outside the gates of Buckingham Palace (with the promise to go back next year to do the tour) So we were pretty much “The Tourists” hence my postcard
Saturated Canary Image: Tourist coloured with Copics
Clothing: V12, V15, V17 V05, V06, V09. V91, V93, V95
Skin E000, E00
Hair, N3, N5, N7
Papermania Urban Stamp from Capsule collection DVD
Dusty Concord Distress Ink
It has been a while since I posted an ATC so I thought I would share this one with you all, It is for an owl ATC swap over at Swap Bot.
Hands up those of you who keep those scraps of paper thinking “I’ll use it sometime”. We all do it, me included, and then every so often I will have a clear out and throw loads of 3/4 inch strips of paper away as I no longer have room because I didn’t use them up. Well this card is a great one for using up those strips, I have seen it done using 5 strips across instead of 3 which makes it even more useful. I used up scraps I had left over from my previous 2 cards to make this one:
Scraps of paper from Uniko Studios Freebie
Spellbinders Parisian Accents
Woodware Stamps: Salutations
I have used this one for my DT inspiration over at Crafty Bloggers Network this morning, why not pop over and have a look at what the other talented girls on out team have to show you.
Isnt it amazing how adding a bit of distress ink can change something so much, this is the same Uniko Studios Freebie paper as Wednesday’s card but this time I used Victorian Velvet distress ink around the edges to tie things in with the glitter paper.
I am entering this into the Sketch Saturday challenge and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge for this week
The Uniko Studio had a freebie a couple of weeks ago (super Free Saturday) and it has taken me this long to use it! I have also had this and a few other Sarah Kay stamps for several weeks as well so I decided that the 2 should work very well together.
The Sarah Kay Image (Susie Ponders) is coloured with Copics (Y21, and Y26 for the dress, R32 R35 and R37 for the bows and boots E50 and E00 for the skin and E31, E33 and E37 for the hair)
Spelbinders Labels 2
Ribbon from stash (one of those hanging bits you get in your clothes)
