Good Luck Card

An acquaintance of ours, who we do framing for, has opened up a new gallery in Cullen to sell her pictures and I wanted to make her a good luck card (didnt get chance last week as I was too busy cutting the mounts for her opening) I took the sketch from Truly Scrumptious this week and made what turned out to be a very “Springy” card – it didnt start out that way but I love the result.
Everybody Art Challenge and Crafty Cardmakers wanted a spring card, Papertake Weekly and Crafty Crations both had an Anything Goes theme.

Ingredients
Daffodil Peel off, coloured with Copics
DCWV Spring Paper Stack
Cardstock from stash
Butterfly Punch
Sentiment Peel Off

Sunday Sketch and (Squiggle) Stamp meets Pollycraft

I decided to go and get me some more Squiggle stamps as I just love their cute little girls, but this time I got digital ones (Ger’s not open on a Monday lol) The Sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp, Squiggle Stamps Challenge this month is for a spring card and Pollycraft had a recipe of 4 papers, 3 embelishments, 2 ribbons or lace and 1 image.

Ingredients
Squiggle Stamps Daisy With Bunny
DCWV Paper stack
Ribbon and lace from stash

Flower Garden Ribbon Box

I needed something to store my loose ribbons in and have had this shoe box sitting around for a while now (never throw anything away, it may come in handy). I set about covering it with paper & making holes in the side (need to make a few more too). I was wondering what to decorate it with when my local craft group asked me to demonstrate some of the flowers I make. What better way of showing the finished product than making a “garden of flowers” on top of my box. I didnt take a picture of the “before” which I should have done so picture a shoe box here – you can all do that, right, lol. Here is the “after”:

This box fits into a number of challenges:
Creative Inspirations – Anything but a card
Raise the Bar – April Fool, a style you dont normally do
Paper Makeup Stamps – Be inspired by the sun (sun brings up the flowers 🙂 )
Allsorts Challenge blog – Alter or recycle something
The Character Cafe – Anything but a card
The Secret Crafter – Pink, Green & Flowers
Charisma Cardz – Spring has sprung
Cute Card Thursday – Dimensions

Ingredients
Shoe Box
DCWV Papers
Punches
Nestabilities
Colorbok clear rhinestones
Eyelet Outlet brads
Jewelery Seal Pearls
Sizzix dies

Caardvarks meets Creative Inspirations

Caardvarks Challenge this month has a great prize of a guest design spot for Just Rite Stamps so I decided to enter their challenge of “Lace” I used the sketch from Creative Inspirations Wednesday Challenge.

I couldnt find any white lace in my stash, so I used a French Lace Doily that my friend Gina sent me and made some purple lace using my Martha Stewart Doily lace punch. I used my Just Rite Stamps to create the middle and some new Cosmic Shimmer Embossing powder.

Ingredients
Just Rite Stamps
French Lace Doily
Martha Stewart border punch
Free flower stamp from Papercraft Inspirations Magazine
Joy Crafts Flower die
Cosmic Shimmer Lapis Pearl Lustre embossing powder
DCWV Paper

Pollycraft DT call number 2

Here is the other image I used for the Pollycraft DT call. Gina and I saw this box here and decided we wanted to make something similar. I have no idea what I am going to use it for yet, but it would make a pretty good gift if filled with card making things, i.e. stamped images in the pockets & brads & things in the drawers. I am really looking forward to spring arriving here, so I thought I would make this in “springy” colours. Allsorts Challenge  Crazy 4 Challenges, Secret Crafter, Crafty Cardmakers and Incy Wincy designs Challenge this week all wanted Spring themed projects and Creative inspirations wanted anything but a card. One Stop Craft theme was “let it Shine” and as my box is quite bright I figured it counts 🙂

Ingredients
Pollycraft image coloured with Copics
DCWV Pocket full of Posies paper stack
Yellow cardstock
Glitter glue for icing on cupcake

Pollycraft DT call

Paula over at Pollycraft is giving away 2 free images this week and she has a design team call. Pollycraft challenge is going to be run every week, which is great news. Digital images are so versitile as you can do so much with them and Pollycraft’s digi’s are just sooo cute. I loved this image of Codi and knew what papers to use with it immediately. I paper pieced & coloured her digitally with papers that my friend Gina had made for her daughter Megan. Dutch Dare Card Challenge this week have a picture for inspiration and Charisma Cardz Challenge wanted something for the kiddies (ok so this is for the older kiddies but it still fits lol)

Ingredients
Codi Stylin’ image from Pollycraft
Sentiment from Pollycraft
Megans Choice papers made by Gina
Nestabilities labels 4 die
Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder
MS Border punch
Charm from Kut 4 U

Pollycraft meets Truly Scrumptious and Fab n Funky

I needed to make a birthday card for my youngest sons best friend (not girlfriend you understand lol). He informed me that she likes Hello Kitty, so out came the sizzix die I got last year, but hadn’t used. Pollycraft Monday challenge this week is sparkly things, the sketch at Truly Scrumptious is another keeper and I got the chance to use my new punch that the boys got me for Mothers Day, so the card is good for the Fab ‘n’ Funky Challenge this week of “Its all New”

Ingredients:
Hello Kitty Die from Sizzix
Sentiment stamp from Pollycraft
My Minds Eye papers
Colour Connection Glitter paper
Pearly Doodles
Glitter glue
EK Success border punch
Nellie Snellan punches
Nestabilities Petite Scallop Circles dies

Stamptacular Sunday

I needed something to hold my images that I have coloured and cut ready to go onto cards. (well something better than the take-away box they are in at the moment!) I set about making an accordian file out of some spare odd envelopes I had and then I saw the sketch on Stamptacular Sunday this week and thought what a perfect way to decorate the front of it, so here it is:

Ingredients:
Creative Expressions Butterfly stamp coloured with sakura pens and coated with Anitas 3D gloss
Papers by Breezy Design
Charms from Kut 4 u
EK Success Retro Flower Punches
Papermania flower brads
Beads & ribbon

Sunflower card

I got this stamp on sale a wee while ago and have been desperate to use it on something. I finally got the chance yesterday. Here is what I came up with using the sketch at Friday Sketchers, “thanks a Bunch” theme at Creative Craft Challenges and “anything goes” at Paper Cutz Challenge:

Ingredients
Papermania Sunflower Stamp
Coredinations Black Majic Card
Anitas Dimensions stickers
Fiskars border punch

All Better Now!

First of all I have to say sorry to anyone who ended up on my blog at the end of last week, major panic attack I had, I was hijacked!!! I didnt notice anything until Saturday and then I had to find a way to fix it, which I have now done by installing a backup. The moral of this story is BACK UP YOUR BLOGS!

Enough of that, after the panic I set about looking for challenges to complete so One Stop Craft wanted stitching, over on Stamptacular Sunday the theme was You and Me and Baby Makes Three! Throw in the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp and you end up with something like this (well I do anyway)

Ingredients
Mos Digital Pencil image coloured digitaly
Free papers from Creative Cardmaking
PC generated sentiment
Nestabilities
Fiskars Border punch
Sakura pen for the “stitching”
